Varvara
Born in Moscow, Russia, Varvara studied at the Gnessin State Musical College and continued her studies at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Mikhail Voskressensky. She later moved to Hamburg for further study with Evgeni Koroliov. In 2006 she was awarded at the Leipzig Bach Competition and in 2012 she was launched onto the international scene after winning the first Prize of the Concours Géza Anda in Zurich. Varvara is interested in any expression of arts and her rich repertoire includes almost all periods and styles, from Bach and Händel to Stravinsky and Arvo Pärt.
Varvara has quickly established a remarkable musical reputation performing with many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras including Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Wiener KammerOrchester, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, SWR Sinfonieorchester, Orchestre National de Lille, Tchaikovky Symphony Orchestra, Gulbenkian Orchestra, performing under the baton of Valery Gergiev, David Zinman, Cornelius Meister, Clemens Schuldt, Yaron Traub, and Vladimir Fedosseyev. As a recitalist, she has offered numerous concerts in Lucerne, Madrid, Moscow, Paris, Barcelona, Alicante, Lyon, Saint Petersburg, Prague, Girona, Hamburg, Valencia, Lausanne, Zurich and Dortmund, among others.
In the 2017/2018 season Varvara performs with Galicia Symphony Orchestra and Eliahu Inbal, Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra and Konstantin Chudovsky in Chile, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra and Valery Gergiev in Lingotto in Torino, Castilla and León Symphony Orchestra and Alexander Polyanichko. She will offer recitals at Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, Sendesaal Bremen, Rachmaninov Hall in Moscow, Sociedad Filarmónica in Bilbao, Mariinsky Teathre in Saint Petersburg, Sociedad de Conciertos in Alicante, Palau de la Música in Barcelona and Radio France Festival in Montpellier, among others. In December 2017, she is going on tour in South America.
After her acclaimed Mozart and Handel albums, a new album about Liszt Sonata, recorded live at Paris Philharmonie will shortly be launched by DisCamera and available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and Google Play Music.
