Trio Ludwig
Formed in 2009, the Ludwig Trio is considered to be one of the most outstanding chamber ensembles of the present day.
The trio features brothers Abel Tomàs, violin, and Arnau Tomàs, cello, both members of the famous Cuarteto Casals, along with pianist Hyo‐Sun Lim, a winner of numerous important international competitions, including the Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition of Brussels, and with substantial experience in chamber music.
The group is principally committed to an in-depth study of Beethoven’s music. As well as having performed his entire output for the piano trios on a number occasions, the Ludwig Trio has recorded one CD with two Trios (Op 1 No 1 and the “Archduke”, Op 97), and a second containing the Triple Concerto with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, under the direction of Víctor Pablo Pérez; these releases have been distinguished with the “E” which the magazine Scherzo awards for exceptional recordings each month.
The Ludwig Trio has performed in numerous concert halls and at festivals, both in Europe and Asia, including at the Orlando Festival in The Netherlands, the Festival Internacional de Panticosa, the Pórtico de Zamora, in the Palau de la Musica Catalana, the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the Festival of Cadaqués, Musica-Musika in Bilbao, the Auditori of Girona and the LG Arts Center in Seoul (South Korea), in addition to appearing as soloists in the Beethoven Triple Concerto with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, the Orquestra Símfonica del Vallés, and with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Euskadi as part of the Quincena Musical de San Sebastián.
In 2018, the trio will make a long tour playing the Beethoven's Triple Concerto with the SWR Symphonieorchester conducted by Eliahu Inbal.

"The session was an absolute success, resulting in overflowing satisfaction considering this synthesis – their uniqueness – the mix of characters, vehemence, spontaneity, rigor and emotion. (…) The Ludwig Trio connect beyond the foreseeable and move side by side through the tenuous and legato moments of the neatly phrased and expanding melodies of the Nocturne in E flat D. 897, which was performed as an encore."
“Then the symphony, even, a symbiosis between the three interpreters, what fine execution, an absolute delicacy.”
“It was a splendid concert, honest, beautiful execution, with a difficult but rich program that made me enjoy the music in its purest state and the best was that not only I did, all those who knew what a good concert was, made it clear during the applause.”
