Reviews
The Times

“Michele Mariotti’s conducting is flexible and attentive, the epitome of good belcanto, and he draws wonderfully stirring playing from the orchestra.”

The Guardian

“In its first revival, its direction honed slightly and with Michele Mariotti conducting with an ear wonderfully sensitive to balance and flow, the production is again striking – chiefly for its intelligence.”

New Spaper and Independent

“Michele Mariotti conducts with persuasive grace.”

WestAndExtra and Camden New Journal

“Italian conductor Michele Mariotti has a sure touch in delivering the Donizetti score.”

Whats On Stage

“What a pleasure it was to hear this opera conducted in a way that painted its colours and explored its dimensions. Michele Mariotti's loving account with the ROH Orchestra raised Lucia di Lammermoor from the level of a lurid potboiler to something approaching greatness. Which is where it belongs.”
